Title
German Bible in a Swiss Dialect
Alternative Title
German Bible with variations to Swiss Dialect
Description
This Bible, published in 1665, is an example of diverse Biblical translations. The Bible was first translated into German by Martin Luther in 1522 for laity to access God's word. However, as the Bible continued to go forth, it was translated into other dialects and languages. This Bible contains slight variations to Luther's original edition due to a Swiss dialect.

"The binding of the book is of a very early type with wood being the main portion of the cover and the wood, in turn, being covered by leather" (qtd. from document accompanying manuscript).
