From the Dust is a graphic novel telling the story of the Hebrew people as recorded in the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon. The author, Michael Mercer, wanted to tell the “biggest story never told,” the story of the prophet Jeremiah, with all its details, and his follower, Lehi. Michael Mercer wanted to help make family scripture study more exciting and effective, he said, “Wouldn’t it be amazing if each day for family scripture study everyone in the family was just darn excited to be there?”
