Description |
The Marzarinea Bible is another name for the Gutenberg Bible which was the first major publication to be printed in moveable type in the West. It was printed by Johannes Gutenberg in the 1450s in Mainz, Germany. It is a Vulgate edition written in Latin. Only 48 complete copies remain today.
This facsimile is a copy of an original Gutenberg Bible found in the Bibliothèque Mazarine in Paris France. It is bound the same as the original in red Morocco leather. The book boasts an impressive copied edition of the original, as it looks as if it just came off of Gutenberg's press. This second volume contains the Old Testament books Proverbs to the end, the Apocrypha, and the New Testament. |
