Title
An Introduction to the Old English History
Description
This book was written by the revolutionary British historian Robert Brady, who helped shift the perception of English history from mythical to rational. The tradition of history-keeping in which Brady was raised held the belief that the origins of British history was "a statute whose making was 'beyond memory' [and] of greater authority than one whose beginnings were known" (Pocock). His work, contrarily, focused on removing myths as the only canon of history and rooting England in its factual past.

Such a shift is important in straying away from the belief of a divine mandate carried by a single nation, often inspiring them to imperialism. However, as history has shown, this did not stop England from doing just that.
