Description
This book contains various sermons by the Franciscan clergyman Pelbartus Ladislaus of Temesvár, Hungary. Franciscans are members of a Catholic order established by St. Francis of Assisi in the 13th century which "strive[s] to cultivate the ideals of poverty and charity." Franciscans would refuse any money for labor done and beg for food in order to survive while preaching God's word ("Franciscan").

The book is bound in pigskin with detailed decorations. The spaces before paragraphs show where capitals were to be placed, but never were. Extensive damage has been done to the book due to bookworms.

The first book, roughly translated, is entitled "Sermons for Winter and Summer published by Brother Pelbartus of Temesvár of the Franciscan Order." The second book, roughly translated, is entitled "Sermons for Lent by Brother Pelbartus of Temesvar of the Franciscan order."

The word "Pomerii" in the title of each book is possibly a reference to the "Pomerium," or the religious border surrounding Rome, the center of the Catholic faith. While the word's original etymology comes from pre-Catholic Rome, it still carries with it the idea of sovereignty from the capitol, thereby giving it authorization for religious use (Drogula).
